The Sir William Dale Centre for Legislative Studies in cooperation with the Legislation Unit of the UN Habitat organised a training seminar at the 9th Session of the World Urban Forum held in Kuala Lumpur from the 7th-13th February 2018. The seminar, titled Building skills to design good urban policies and legislation, was attended by 70 participants from Parliaments, Ministries, local governments and NGOs from around the world. Dr Maria Mousmouti focused on the concept of ‘good’ legislation and methods and tools that can help design good urban laws while Robert Lewis-Lettington from the UN Habitat Legislation Unit addressed the role of legislation in the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and The Kuala Lumpur declaration (accessible here
