Successful completion of IALS-UN Habitat training seminar ‘Building drafting skills for improving the quality of urban legislation”

A specialized training seminar titled ‘Building drafting skills for improving the quality of urban legislation” was organized by the Sir William Dale Centre for Legislative Studies in cooperation with UN-Habitat from 10-14th July 2017. 

The seminar addressed policy makers, urban planners, UN Habitat officers and legal experts from around the world and aimed to familiarize them with the dividing lines between policy and legislation, help them understand criteria of quality in legislation and familiarize them with existing methods and tools for evidence based law making and basic drafting principles. The seminar was run by Dr. Constantin Stefanou, Director of the Sir William Dale Centre, Prof. Helen Xanthaki, Professor of Law at UCL and Dr. Maria Mousmouti, Lecturer at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. 

The seminar falls within the Urban Law Project an initiative implemented by the Sir William Dale Centre for Legislative Studies in cooperation with UN Habitat.
