The 4th industrial revolution has continuously increased speed. Financial markets are in the vanguard, here. The disruptive momentum of accelerated and advanced digitalisation challenges not only the incumbent financial markets players and their business models. Policy makers,legislators and regulators as well as supervisors worldwide are required to adequately respond to the profound transformation of financial markets. From the plethora of relevant problems the talk selects a few pivotal policy issues and legal challenges of digitalisation in the realm of financial markets from a German, European and international perspective in order to reassert the role of law in the digital age.
