The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies' own Students, Staff and Fellows and other School of Advanced Study Students, Staff and Fellows are issued with either a SAScard or University staff ID card which enable use of IALS Library facilities and services and use of other institute libraries and Senate House Library in the University of London Research Library Services.
IALS and SAS Students
SAScards for new and continuing students will be prepared in advance and issued by the School of Advanced Study on registration.
IALS and SAS Fellows
Visiting Fellows will be able to obtain a SAScard from the School Registry Office in Room 220, Senate House South Block. By appointment on: (020) 7862 8662 or email sas.registry@sas.ac.uk
You are asked to take along a recent passport size photograph.
IALS and SAS Staff
Members of staff will need to take an authorised ID Card Form (issued by your Institute) to the ID Card Office in Senate House South Block, where your photograph will be taken and the card created. The process takes approximately 10 minutes.
ID Cards are obtained from South Block reception of Senate House. By appointment or email IDCards@london.ac.uk
Once you have obtained your card, please fill out the following form: http://ials.sas.ac.uk/libsys/SASform.htm. Your registration will be confirmed by email.

You can use your SAScard to access any of the libraries in the University of London Research Library Services and to borrow from your home institute ( Institute of Advanced Legal Studies ) and Senate House Library.

If you want to renew your books online or access a range of electronic resources you will need to login using your name and barcode number from your current SAScard. You can also use your SAScard to gain Wi-Fi access to the Internet from you own laptop computer.
