IALS Library Electronic Legal Research Unit

Laser Printing Facilities

Self-service card-operated networked laser printers are available, serving computers on the Library Concourse, in the Electronic Legal Research Unit and Reading Room L2.

A print job initiated at any workstation PC is sent to a queue at the nearest laser printer. A PC attached to the printer displays current print jobs. Jobs are identified by the computer and application involved. E.g. if you have been using workstation READER7, your print jobs will be listed in the queue as READER7. Jobs are held in a queue pending printing for up to two hours.

Instructions near the printer explains how to select and print your job. The printers are loaded with A4 size paper. All documents should be formatted for A4. The printers are operated by cards of differing denominations which may be purchased from the vending machine near the photocopiers on the 4th floor or from the Enquiry Desk. These cards will also operate IALS photocopiers.
