Co-operation between the IALS Library and the Social Law Library, Boston

IALS Library has signed a reciprocal agreement with the Boston Social Law Library http://www.socialaw.com/ to ensure their readers and subscribers to their document supply services have access to each other's collections. The Social Law Library is one of the largest and most respected legal research institutions in the United States with a collection that is strong in United States practice-oriented materials. In early December 2007, IALS Library hosted a visit from Mr Michael Saporito, the Access Services Librarian at the Social Law Library. Michael did an interesting and well received presentation for IALS staff on the Social Law Library’s role, membership, collections and services.

An article by Michael published in Legal Information Management and included in the IALS section of SAS-SPACE (the School of Advanced Study's E-repository) discusses Michael's visit to London and the co-operation scheme established by Boston Social Law Library and IALS Library to exploit our document delivery services for the mutual benefit of our clients.
