Telephone Enquiry Service

Subscribers also gain access to our dedicated direct line telephone enquiry service. This is staffed by professionally qualified librarians from 9.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. The service is intended to enable practitioners, or their library staff, to enquire about the availability of specified items in the Library's collections.

A voicemail service is available outside of these hours or when IALS library staff are taking another call. There is no additional charge for this service. Speculative or extended searches cannot be undertaken on behalf of enquirers but the provision of a costed service for this purpose will be considered if there is evidence of sufficient demand.

To assist their own research, the Library catalogue and list of serials are freely available on our website: http://ials.sas.ac.uk , together with access to the Internet Law Gateways.
