Library annual stock moving and preparations for new session Fri 14th Sept - Mon 1st Oct 2018

IALS Library will close to readers at 5:00pm on Friday 14th September 2018 for essential annual stock moving and preparatory work for the new academic session and will re-open at 9:00am on Monday 1st October 2018.

The Document Supply Service for subscribers will continue to operate as normal during this period.

Professor Carl Stychin, gender identity legal expert, to join IALS

Professor Carl Stychin has been appointed director of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) and professor of law with effect from 1 January 2019. He will succeed Jules Winterton who has led the institute, a member of the School of Advanced Study (SAS), University of London, for five years. Professor Stychin is currently professor of law at City, University of London, a position he will relinquish on 31 December 2018.

A specialized training seminar titled ‘Building drafting skills for improving the quality of urban legislation” was organized by the Sir William Dale Centre for Legislative Studies in cooperation with UN-Habitat from 9-13th July 2018. 

Library Management System and catalogue: Essential maintenance from 1am to 9am on Tuesday 17th July 2018

Essential maintenance on the library catalogue and management system for the School of Advanced Study's libraries, including IALS Library, and Senate House Library will be carried out in the early hours of Tuesday 17th July 2018. The system was taken offline after 1.00am and will be back up and running from 9:00am on Tuesday morning 17th July 2018.
