Dr. Maria Mousmouti, Lecturer in Law at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies participated in the Symposium ‘Teaching Legislation: Theory and Practice’

The Symposium was held on 26 October 2017 at the Centre for Legislation, Its Interpretation and Drafting of La Trobe School of Law in Australia.

In her contribution titled ‘A new ‘phronetic’ approach to teaching legislative drafting at the intersection of theory, creativity and practice’ Dr. Mousmouti valorised the experience of the IALS from the LLM in Advanced Legislative Studies  and the Professional Legislative Drafting Course  to outline the principles of an innovative approach to the teaching of legislative drafting that combines a) theoretical training; b) practical experience in drafting; c) active experimentation and reflective practice that allow creative and independently thinking.
