The normal minimum entrance requirement is a first-class or upper second-class degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant subject. Applicants with relevant experience and skill may also be considered. All applicants must demonstrate a high level of competence and written and spoken English.
Any applications which are seeking Bursary funding must be submitted by April 2012. The only applications which can be accepted after that date are those which do not require a Bursary application to be made.
Applications for the 2012-13 programme should be submitted by 1 August 2012. If you would like to submit an application later than this date, please contact the Student Administrator.
Before sending your applications please make sure they are complete and that all the required documentation has been included.
What we will need is:
You application form filled out in full
Two references either from an academic who is familiar with your work, or if you graduated before 2003 two professional references. These must be on the official letterhead of the Academic Institution or Company where your referee works
The original or an original certified copy of your transcript. If your transcript is not in English we will need an original translation of your transcript as well as the original transcript
The original copy of your English Competency Test
A copy of your CV
If you are submitting an application for the MPhil/PhD , please send us a copy of your research proposal and your CV. Before accepting an application from you we will need to ensure that we have an academic that can supervise your area of research.
Once we have received a full application it usually takes 28 days for you to receive notification of our decision regarding your application. This will be sent to you from the Registry Office of the School of Advanced Study .
