Applications should normally be for entry in the next academic year. Admission will normally run from October, unless there are good reasons to the contrary. Applicants are expected to have consulted the Institute in order to discuss their proposed research (ideally by first submitting a research proposal of up to 1,500 words and a curriculum vitae) before submitting their final application, and you should be prepared to revise your proposed research project in the light of such consultation.
The initial, informal consultation will enable the Institute to decide if there is someone available and willing to supervise the applicant. If a member of our staff is able to supervise the proposed research you will be invited to submit a formal application. A final decision will be made following reciept of your full application and supporting documentation.
