Subject is: ‘Research Presentation’: Bahriye Basaran, who has submitted her PhD thesis at IALS and is scheduled to have her viva examination in November 2018, has kindly agreed to give a presentation on her research question, approach/methodology and findings.

Subject is: ‘Mock Viva Session’: Calvin Jackson and Dr Alan Brener will play the respective roles of research student at his viva examination and the examiner.  This will be discussion with attendees of the ‘standard questions’ that usually feature in viva examinations.

Subject is: ‘PhD Student Pastoral Session’: Guest Panel session – an opportunity for PhD students to discuss how they are getting on with their PhD Study and to seek/offer guidance on any particular concerns, such as work motivation and processes, research methodology, supervisor relationship, thesis writing, living accommodation or residence status.

Subject is: ‘Careers – Academia, Legal Practice, NGOs’: Panel session, with Guest Panellists who will lead/facilitate discussion on how best to get started/continue on career goals.
