Summer Hours 2018
From Monday 11th June to mid-September 2018 IALS operates the following summer vacation hours:
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 8.00pm
Saturday 10.00am to 5.30pm
Document Delivery Service
Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5:00pm
We will reduce the weekday hours until 8.00pm, Saturday hours until 5.30pm and not open on Sundays during the summer vacation from mid-June until September.
Closing Bells - Two warning bells are rung each day to indicate that the Library will be closing soon. The first warning bell is rung 25 minutes before the building closes. The second warning bell is rung 15 minutes before the building closes. Members are requested to complete their work and pack up and leave the library after the second bell.
There are several floors in the building to clear and close, and some areas and equipment will be unavailable earlier than the final closing time.
Public Holiday Monday 27 August 2018
The Library and the Document Supply Service for subscribers will be closed for the Public Holiday on Monday 27th August 2018. The Library will close to readers at 5:30pm on Saturday 25th August 2018 and will re-open at 9:00am on Tuesday 28th August 2018.
Annual stock moving and Library refurbishment work Friday 14th September - Monday 1st October 2018
The Library will close to readers at 5:00pm on Friday 14th September 2018 for essential annual stock moving and refurbishment work and will re-open at 9:00am on Monday 1st October 2018.
The Document Supply Service for subscribers will continue to operate as normal during this period.
IALS Library Opening Hours from October to mid-June (Term and Vacation)
From Monday 1st October 2018 to Sunday 16th June 2019 IALS Library will open as follows:
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 11.00pm
(Last admission to Library at 10.45pm)
(Only current IALS Library card or SAScard holders after 7.45pm)
Saturday 10.00am to 8.30pm
(Last admission to Library at 8.15pm)
(Only current IALS Library card or SAScard holders after 5.15pm)
Sunday 12.30pm to 8.30pm
(Last admission to Library at 8.15pm)

Please note that our normal extended Library opening hours apply to the IALS Library only. All IALS academic rooms close at 8.30pm on weekdays and all day on Sundays.
We will be closed between Saturday 22nd December 2018 and Tuesday 1st January 2019 for the Christmas break.
During Easter 2019 the Library will be open to readers from 10.00am to 8.30pm on Thursday 18th April, and then close for Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. The Library will re-open from 10.00am to 8.30pm on Tuesday 23rd April 2019.
We will be open from 10.00am to 8.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May 2018 and on Bank Holiday Monday 27th May 2019.
