The Beijing Arbitration Commission and the Institute are involved in various means of co-operation including an annual report on arbitration in China and an annual conference at the Institute. The Commission has presented the Institute with several works on Chinese and international arbitration and a series containing arbitration decisions over the past several year.
In June 2013 experts gathered at IALS to discuss Commercial Dispute Resolution in China. The Conference was opened by Madame Wang Hongsong, Vice-Chairperson, Beijing Arbitration Commission and IALS Director, Jules Winterton. Members of the Beijing Arbitration Commission presented the BAC annual reports on: arbitration, mediation, construction, intellectual property, and finance. Rt Hon Jack Straw MP delivered concluding Remarks.
The 3rd Annual London Summit on Commercial Dispute Resolution in China was held by the Beijing International Arbitration Centre in association with IALS, the Centre for Commercial Law Studies of Queen Mary University of London, and BPP University at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington in July attracting a wide range of academic lawyers and practitioners and a large Chinese delegation. The Annual Review of Commercial Dispute Resolution in China was launched at the Summit. The IALS Director was one of the speakers.
The 4th Annual London Summit on Commercial Dispute Resolution in China was held by the Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center (BAC / BIAC), in association with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London (CCLS), and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London (IALS) at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel London-Victoria on 20th June 2016.
The 5th Annual London Summit on Commercial Dispute Resolution in China being organised by the Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center was held on Monday 19th June 2017 at the Double Tree by Hilton Tower of London Hotel (7 Pepys Street, London EC3N 4AF).
