SCOOP print still matters

SCOOP print still matters is an online tool for identifying UK libraries with print collections of official publications issued by the UK Parliament, UK Government, and the Devolved Assemblies, Parliaments, and Administrations of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Official publications of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man are also covered. The information contained in the website was collected through the Print Still Matters Project in 2012/13, an initiative of the Standing Committee on Official Publications (SCOOP).

Takeover Panel

The Takeover Panel (or Panel on Takeovers and Mergers) regulates takeovers and mergers in the UK, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Its website includes information on the regulatory role of the Panel, the text of City Code on Takeovers and Mergers and related instruments, governing rules, practice statements, forms and checklists. It also has details of current and closed consultations.

Isle of Man Legislation

The official Isle of Man legislation websit,e providing free, open access to all current Acts of Tynwald consolidated to show all amendments. Each of the current acts shows the act consolidated to September 2012. The site offers browse and search facilties and features: current acts presented alphabetically or by subject, with a point in time function allowing previous versions of acts to be viewed; a table of changes made to acts showing the source of amendments and the date they came into effect; all acts published “as enacted” since 2001; all acts repealed since September 2012.

Nursing and Midwifery Council

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is the regulator for nurses and midwives in the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Its website provides a searchable register of nurses and midwives. There is detailed information about fitness to practise hearings, including the outcomes of the most recent four months’ hearings and lists of forthcoming hearings; the Hearings page also has statistics going back to 2000/01. The Publications page has standards, best practice guidance, official circulars, annual reports and many other documents


Tynwald is the Isle of Man parliament. Its website provides publications such as Hansard (1997/98 onwards), recent bills, committee reports (2000/01 onwards) and order papers (1997/98 onwards). Information is available about the progress of current bills, parliamentary procedure and the history of Tynwald. The site also includes press releases and lists past and present Members of Tynwald.


The website of this Isle of Man law firm provides a collection of legal and business guides relating to the jurisdiction. The areas of law covered include taxation, trusts, companies and conveyancing.

Appleby - Publications Search

Collection of articles, briefings, newsletters and other publications by global law firm Appleby, which specialises in offshore law. The publications cover a wide range of legal and other topics, including international finance, telecommunications and technology, insolvency, insurance, property law, trusts and estates, employment and immigration. Many different jurisdictions are dealt with: Bahrain, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Mauritius, the Seychelles, Switzerland and the UK. World Law: Isle of Man

Section of WorldLII's Countries service covering the Isle of Man. The site offers browse and search facilities to trace Internet resources for the Isle of Man including government, legislation, case law and cyberspace. A stored search will automatically search for materials relating to the Isle of Man on all of the WorldLII catalog or databases. This section of WorldLII was developed from work initiated by Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII).

Isle of Man Government

Official website for the government of the Isle of Man. It provides official information and guidance from the various government departments, arranged by subject. There are links to government consultations and to a database of company information. The site is primarily designed for members of the public.
