Cousins Business Law

Website of Cousins Business Law, a firm of commercial solicitors specialising in SMEs and family run businesses. The site offers a selection of free articles covering subjects relevant to small business such as outsourcing, contracts, IT and ecommerce. There is also a monthly ezine which can be freely downloaded from the site and a business law blog. Posts can be viewed by date or subject eg. partnership agreements, business disputes, licensing and laws and regulations.

Labuan FSA official website

The Labuan Financial Services Authority is a statutory body created under the Labuan Financial Services Act 1996. It is responsible for the development and administration of the Labuan International Business and Financial Centre and acts as its central regulatory, supervisory and enforcement authority. The website gives details of the legislation and guidelines governing the business activities of the Labuan IBFC. There is also more general information about Labuan FSA (organisation chart, staff directory, mission statement) and the activities of the Labuan IBFC.

Pump Court Tax Chambers

This is the website of Pump Court Tax Chambers, a UK set of barristers’ chambers specialising in tax law. The ‘Resources’ section lists full-text judgments from 2005 onwards, available in PDF. This section includes articles written by Pump Court’s barristers from 2010 onwards, which again are in PDF format. There is also a small publications section.

Lowtax.net

The Lowtax.net website provides details of the tax and legal regimes of offshore and onshore jurisdictions. The ‘Global Tax Coverage’ section contains a range of information about these regimes, from an introduction to government to types of company, offshore business sectors and double tax treaties. The vast majority of countries also have a Services Directory and a selection of articles, which are available in a combination of PDF and HTML format.

Constitution Finder

A global directory of constitutions on the web, provided by the School of Law at the University of Richmond in the United States. Consists of an alphabetical list of countries, with links to their constitutions; both current and historical constitutions are included. Most are available in English translation, but a few are only in other languages.

Doing business: law library

Gateway to business laws and regulations from all over the world, compiled by the World Bank’s Doing Business project. Gives links to official sources as far as possible, and many of the texts are in English translation. Can be browsed by country or region. The areas of law covered are: banking, bankruptcy, civil codes, civil procedure, commercial and company law, constitutional law, employment law, land and building law, privacy, securities, tax and trade.

This Irish law firm website provides commentary on Irish legal developments, in its Publications section. The areas of law covered include company law, banking, employment, European Union, competition, immigration, intellectual property, information technology, litigation, dispute resolution, media and property.

MannBenham

The website of this Isle of Man law firm provides a collection of legal and business guides relating to the jurisdiction. The areas of law covered include taxation, trusts, companies and conveyancing.

Voisin

The Library page of this Jersey law firm’s website provides articles on a range of Jersey legal topics. It also includes the firm’s newsletter, Jersey Brief, from 2000 onwards.
