The Migration Information Source is a project of the Migration Policy Institute, an independent think tank based in Washington, DC. It provides information relating to migration, immigration, refugees and asylum seekers worldwide. This includes news, interviews and compilations of global migration data from major international organisations and national governments. Country profiles provide factual information on the current and historical immigration policy and ongoing political debates. Other features include lists of forthcoming conferences, a glossary of migration terms and a directory of links to useful websites. International migration data from primary sources is also provided covering issues such as asylum applications and population size and composition.
