Online Seminar (Zoom)
Regulatory Capture is a condition that can affect all regulators, and one that can undermine the public interest objectives of the regulator set by parliament. This research examines the application of the work of the Committee on Public Standards to the mitigation of regulatory capture, in particular, agency capture, barriers to entry, political interference, and the revolving door. The research focusses on the role, and mitigation, of regulatory capture in the regulation of the United Kingdom financial services industry.
