Current academic staff and postgraduate research students (PhD, MPhil, MRes) from any university* can join the IALS Library free of charge.
Postgraduate taught-course students (e.g. LLM students) are not normally admitted, except those registered at the following University of London Colleges under a current arrangement with IALS: Birkbeck College, King’s College London, London School of Economics, Queen Mary University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies, University College London)
How to join IALS Library
Academic staff applicants will need to download and open in Adobe Acrobat Reader to complete the application form. Postgraduate students or academic legal researchers need to apply online.
You may upload a photograph or scans of both sides your university ID directly to the form. Academic staff will need to email the form to us at firstname.lastname@example.org

Non-University researchers with legal training are admitted on payment of a fee
