EISIL Electronic Information System for International Law

EISIL is a research tool from the American Society of International Law (ASIL). The goal of this free online database is that web searchers can easily locate the highest quality primary materials, authoritative web sites and helpful research guides to international law on the web.

EISIL is freely available to everyone.

EISIL does not contain legal material itself, rather it provides links to other online sources of authoritative material related to international law. ‘More information’ buttons give an overview of each entry.

The home page presents a number of subject categories which can be browsed. Click on any category to browse the contents. Records in each subject area are listed by type of resource.

EISIL has both a quick search and advanced search function. The quick search allows searches by keywords or phrases. Phrases should be entered in quotation marks.

For more information and help with searching, a ‘help’ button is available from the homepage.
