IALS Fellow Appointed Law Commissioner

The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies offers its congratulations to Senior Associate Research Fellow, Professor Lisa Webley, on her appointment as a Law Commissioner of England and Wales, for Property, Family and Trust Law, as of 1st September 2025.
Lisa is a former member of the academic staff at IALS and continues to support the Institute as a Senior Associate Research Fellow. In particular, she has convened the very popular Research Methods Training Course for many years.
Professor Carl Stychin, Director of IALS, said:
The entire IALS community was delighted to learn of the appointment of Professor Lisa Webley as a Law Commissioner. Lisa has been a stalwart supporter and friend of IALS, and she will make an outstanding contribution to the work of the Commission. We also congratulate Professor Solène Rowan, of the Dickson Poon School of Law, who is equally an inspired appointment. The Institute looks forward to continuing to work with the Law Commission on its strategy and delivery of future projects.
