• In July 2020 he was elected as a member of the LLMC Digital Board for the 2020-2024 term. 
• In July 2019 he was elected as Secretary of the Board of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) for the 2019-2022 term.
• Chair of the IALL Scholarships Committee, 2019-2022 and member of the IALL Finance Committee, 2019-2022.
• From April 2018 Chair of the FLARE Group of major UK law libraries
• In July 2016 he was elected as Secretary of the Board of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) for the 2016-2019 term.
• Chair of the IALL Scholarships Committee, 2016-2019.
• In June 2016 he was jointly awarded the 2016 Wallace Breem Memorial Award by the British Association of Law Librarians (BIALL). IALS Library won the Award in recognition for its work on two projects which were commended for being of great benefit to law librarians across the country. The second project cited was the annual BIALL / SLS Survey of Academic Law Libraries, which has been administered by David Gee and Laura Griffiths since 2011. This survey provides a snapshot of staffing levels, expenditure, subscriptions and services provided by academic law libraries in the UK and Ireland. It is the only survey of its kind and provides data that academic librarians can to use to bench-mark their own services. The report is published each year in the winter edition of Legal Information Management, and is made available on the IALS website.

• In July 2013 he was elected to the Board of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) for the 2013-2016 term
• Attended the University of London Future Leaders training course in June 2013
• Awarded Chartered Manager status by the Chartered Management Institute from May 2012 onwards
• Appointed as Visiting Fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer auslaendishes und internationales Privatrecht, Hamburg, Germany, (September 2012)
• Awarded a Level 5 Diploma In Management and Leadership by the Chartered Management Institute in November 2011
• Managing and reporting on the "Society of Legal Scholars / BIALL Annual Survey of Academic Law Libraries in the United Kingdom and Ireland" (2011 onwards)
• Appointed as "Member-at-large" of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) Scholarships Committee and undertaking a survey of major law libraries across the world (2011 onwards)
• Previously a member of the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians Council, a senior member of the Editorial Board of Legal Information Management, a member of the BIALL Awards and Bursaries Committee and a member of the cpd25 Steering Group and Chair of the cpd25 Career Development Task Group (http://www.cpd25.ac.uk)
