Energy Law

The legal framework governing energy and natural resources is under increasing scrutiny. The Institute has long-standing expertise in this research area, and continues to welcome visiting scholars to the UK who work in this area. Over the past two decades, a number of PhD students successfully completed their studies at the Institute and have gone on to develop careers in practice, policy and academia. The Institute has also established links with key policymakers, practitioners and NGOs in this field. 

Former Director of IALS, Professor Terence Daintith, was the Founding Editor of the Journal of Energy and Natural Resources Law.
