Research into Solicitor Complaints

Research conducted by Richard Moorhead, Senior Research Fellow, Sarah Rogers, Research Fellow, and Professor Sherr, into the management of complaints by the Office for the Supervision of Solicitors was published in the Spring, 2000: Willing Blindness? OSS Complaints Handling Procedures (Law Society, February 2000) and Compensation for Inadequate Professional Services (IALS, April 2000). A seminar to discuss complaints handling and professional regulation was also hosted with contributions from Professor Alan Paterson of the University of Strathclyde; Ann Abraham, the Legal Services Ombudsman; Dr Linda Mulcahy, Birkbeck College, University of London; and Mr Moorhead.
