From Monday 27th July 2020, IALS Library will offer two new library services for SAS PhD and MA/LLM students:
a) A new Click, Collect & Return service will allow all library members to request books via the library catalogue at home and then come in to IALS to borrow the library’s physical books whilst the IALS Library reading rooms remain closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new book collection and return service will operate from the Ground Floor of the IALS building at 17 Russell Square WC1B 5DR. It will be available for 2 hours from 12.00 noon to 2.00pm, Monday to Wednesday each week. You will be required to wear a face covering and follow health and safety guidance and social distancing when collecting and returning your books onsite. The health and safety of our members and staff is our top priority. If you have any difficulty going up the stairs to the front door, please do let us know beforehand by emailing email@example.com so we can organise alternative arrangements for you.
This is an online request, book collection and book return service ONLY. Find out more about how it works
The IALS Library reading rooms and the rest of the IALS building (including the toilets and café) remain closed to members and there are no other onsite services.
b) A new very limited online scanning service from printed books and journals in the IALS Library collections (but not from materials already available via our IALS e-resources). This service is only available for SAS students. One article or one book chapter per SAS student per week can be requested via the IALS Reference Desk (firstname.lastname@example.org). Library staff will then scan and email the requested item to individual SAS students as time allows. Find out more about how it works
